Text Box: Dear Sisters and Brothers,

This is a time of new beginnings, when some mark the New Year with a resolution.  It is a chance to make a new start.

At Farnham and Aldershot Methodist Churches, we are taking this moment to launch a new format for our Notices.  We will have a monthly Notice sheet which will carry a message from the Minister or a Local Preacher, or they will have a hymn or prayer for us to meditate upon.

Three times a year we also plan to produce a booklet of good news about the church activities and hear from some of the groups who meet on our premises.

These two publications will replace the Link. We are very grateful to Margaret, Ian, Rosemary and Tania for their roles in editing and producing the Link over the years.

This is a time of new beginnings, and so we begin the New Year with our Covenant Service, an opportunity to renew our solemn commitment to God, as God graciously commits Himself to us in love in Jesus.

In Him,
Conrad

Text Box: Charity Coffee Mornings

Covenant Service – January 7th 10.30am
The Covenant Service is at the heart of Methodists' devotion and discipleship. The Covenant was basic to John Wesley's understanding of Christian discipleship.  It is not a contract but the means of grace by which we accept our relationship with God. God's gracious offer to us is therefore simultaneously a challenge. If God is committed to us, are we prepared to accept this as reality and commit ourselves in return to God?

Text Box: Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
18th to 25th January 2018
Text Box: Prayer

Grant us, O God,
in all our doubts and uncertainties,
the grace to ask what you would us do,
that the spirit of wisdom may save us from all false choices,
and that in your light we may see light,
and in your path may not stumble;
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
William Reed Huntingdon (1838-1909)
