Every church needs to use the talents of those who attend; this is how some of our members do this

Members of the church are very generous in their giving. Here are two examples of recent collections.

Our church members, with the help and encouragement of Martin Squires, our Christian Aid representative, faithfully carry out the annual house-to-house collections and the following report shows how fruitful this can be.

Easter Offering 2010

Easter offering envelopes and "Sunshine Bags"

Sheila Simmons, Circuit E O secretary  writes:

Thank you to all for contributing to the recent Easter Offering collection in aid of mission work at home and overseas. Your church raised the grand sum of £596.33.

The overall result from our Circuit was £2213.90. This was an excellent result especially as this does not include the amount raised by those who claimed tax relief of 28p in the £

FLOWER ARRANGING AND DESIGN

MUSIC

This is not just an activity to  beautify the church; it is considered to be part of our worship; an offering to God of what He gives us to enjoy through our senses. The flower arrangers are in the Church on Friday afternoon or Saturday mornings and would be pleased for you to join them if you know something of this art or would like to learn.

We do not have a permanent choir or singing group but at certain times of the year special music is prepared. Christmas is the time of greatest activity and the annual Candlelight Carol Service is considerably enhanced when led by the "Music Group". Through the years we have been introduced to new hymns/songs and the church has become familiar with modern music which, blended with traditional hymns, widens the musical repertoire of the whole church.

PASTORAL VISITING

READING AT SERVICES

In all services passages are read from the Bible. Most preachers like someone else to read the chosen passages and this is a way in which members of the congregation can participate in the conduct of worship.

To assist the Minister in his/her pastoral role, chosen members of the congregation regularly keep in touch with all who have links with the church. They will tell the Ministers if there are any problems of a confidential nature beyond the remit of the pastoral visitor.
